A health outreach effort that lasted a decade without actual office walls celebrates one year in a physical location.
Medina Health Center hosted an event that recognized a successful year establishing an effective clinic while officials outlined future objectives to provide no-cost primary and spec
ialty care to underserved communities.
In December 2024, guided by a community health needs assessment and growing demand for comprehensive primary care, Medina opened its first permanent facility at located at 828 N.Olden Ave. in Trenton.

The transition expanded work from specialty navigation to include full-service primary care, chronic disease management, women’s health access, and integrated navigation/referral pathways to dental, behavioral health, and specialty services.
Medina holds a New Jersey Ambulatory Care License and has begun implementing insurance billing while maintaining a sliding-fee model to ensure that all uninsured individuals receive care at an affordable cost.
Medina intends to attain Federally Qualified Health Center Look-A-Like status meeting all the operations of an FQHC but without federal grant funding. Instead, Medina likely will access key benefits like higher Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement rates and offer drug discounts, enabling them to better serve clients.
Medina Health Center operates as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit healthcare organization (EIN 47-1088145) dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, affordable, and culturally responsive primary care for uninsured and underinsured residents of Trenton.
Medina works to reduce health disparities and strengthen community well-being through clinical services, partnerships, and outreach.
