The Inland boys athlete of the week: Name: Isaiah Rogers School: Centennial Sport: Basketball Year: Senior Noteworthy: Rogers, a 6-foot-3 guard who signed with Stanford last month, averaged 26.7 points per game across four games and was chosen the Most Valuable Player of the San Juan Invitational. R ogers scored a program-record 51 points in the Huskies’ 88-42 semifinal win over Capistrano Valley Christian. He broke the previous record of 49 points, set by Jamaal Williams in 2000. Rogers followed that with a team-high 20 points in the championship game, leading Centennial to a 71-57 victory over Mater Dei. Centennial is 10-1 and begins play at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas on Friday.
