(KRON) -- Suspected members of a large burglary crew from the San Francisco Bay Area were nabbed while they attempted to flee from a marijuana greenhouse in Salinas, investigators said. A still-in-progress burglary was reported just before 4 a.m. Monday at the cannabis-growing greenhouse on Encinal Road. "About 10 subjects were reported to have broken into the facility and were loading marijuana into four vehicles," the Monterey County Sheriff's Office wrote. Sheriff’s deputies, Salinas Police Department officers, and California Highway Patrol officers swarmed the area to cut off escape routes. Lengthy witness list filed for Los Gatos ‘Party Mom’ trial One of the fleeing vehicles drove into a farm field where it became stuck, another drove into a ditch, and the third vehicle collided with a CHP officer's patrol car. "The fourthvehicle was able to get away," MCSO wrote. Eight men were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail.
