Dec. 15, 2025: The City of Fort Pierre is putting a water use restriction in place starting Monday (Dec. 15, 2025) at 10pm CT and continuing until further notice. On Tuesday, the Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi will be connecting the new core water line with the existing water line. While the w ork is being done, the water will be shut off to Fort Pierre and the town will be using water from its storage water supply. All Fort Pierre water system customers are asked to limit unnecessary use until the restriction is lifted. The city will send out a notification when the restriction is lifted.
