Richmond Print Group to lay off 76 employees in February

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Another round of mass layoffs affecting dozens of jobs is coming to the area next year.
Richmond Print Group, a Moore printing and envelope production facility, will eliminate 76 positions associated with its lettershop service at the location, according to a notice filed w
ith the state. The business, located at 8000 Villa Park Drive, is discontinuing its lettershop production.
First reported by Richmond BizSense, the layoffs will take effect on Feb. 8, 2026.
Per the notice, some of the affected positions include lettershop technician, inserting operator and account manager. All impacted employees were notified on Tuesday, Dec. 9, and the transition is expected to be completed within 60 days, according to a Richmond Print Group spokesperson.
The company said the layoffs came after it moved to shift the print and mail production solutions to other Moore facilities across the country.
"This move supports the company’s implementation of technology-enabled production super centers driven by data and designed for sustainability. Envelope manufacturing will continue at the facility in Richmond. ... Moore is supporting them with a transition plan that includes help exploring other opportunities within the company and additional resources as part of this change. Richmond Print Group, a Moore company, is complying with all state and federal labor notifications, policies, and laws throughout the process," said the spokesperson in a statement to 8News.
Marketing solutions firm Moore announced the opening of Richmond Print Group in 2020. At the time, Moore invested $31 million into the facility and said it was creating 239 new jobs in the area.
Most recently, Richmond-based nonprofit United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) announced that it has laid off some of the staff following furloughs of 90 employees due to the government shutdown.
