Dec 13, 2025
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Kentucky Wildcats earned their first win against a quality opponent this season, defeating Indiana 72–60. Kentucky trailed 39–32 at halftime but outscored the Hoosiers 40–21 in the second half to secure the victory. It marked Kentucky’s first win ove
r Indiana since the 2012 NCAA Tournament, as the teams had met only once since then (the 2016 NCAA Tournament).
The first half was a struggle for Kentucky. The Wildcats made just one three-pointer and failed to prevent Indiana from scoring easy baskets at the rim. The Hoosiers closed the half on a 7–0 run to extend their lead to seven at the break.
Early in the second half, Indiana’s leading scorer, Lamar Wilkerson, picked up his fourth foul. From that point on, Kentucky found its stride on both ends of the floor. Indiana briefly extended its lead to 49–42 with just over 14 minutes remaining, but over the next seven minutes, the Wildcats went on a 17–2 run to build what proved to be an insurmountable lead.
Two of Kentucky’s recently injured pieces, Mo Dioubate and Jaland Lowe, were among the Wildcats’ biggest contributors in the win.
Dioubate played in his first game since Nov. 18 against Michigan State and recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, leading the team in both categories.
Lowe scored a season-high 13 points while adding five rebounds and two assists.
With the win, Kentucky improves to 7–4 on the season. The Wildcats will return to action next Saturday when they take on Rick Pitino and St. John’s at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The game will be part of the CBS Sports Classic and is scheduled to tip off at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
