Indy DPW deploying contractors to assist with snow removal
Dec 13, 2025
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) on Saturday will be deploying contractors to assist with snow removal on residential streets.
Contractors will be addressing priority three roadways by the end of the day Saturday, and they are expected to continue
working through much of Sunday, according to Indy DPW. Contractors will make one pass down the center of the roadway to make it passable.
Indy DPW is asking residents to consider moving any vehicles parked on the street to allow contractors more room to work.
AFSCME Local #725 and #3131 crews have been working around the clock on rotating, 12-hour shifts since Wednesday morning. Crews are expected to remain on 12-hour shifts through the weekend.
Indy DPW is advising residents to drive with caution when crews are out and to give room for plows to work safely.
Residents are responsible for clearing the area around their mailboxes and the sidewalks in front of their residence, business, and property, according to Indy DPW.
