ng the service of the warrant, a 35-year-old man refused to come to the door, according to authorities. Deputies used force to enter the home, and it was determined the suspect broke his phone and started a fire on his bedroom floor to destroy evidence, sheriff’s officials said.
Detectives found six vehicles that had their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) altered or switched to apparently conceal their identity or stolen status, the sheriff’s office reported.
According to authorities, the vehicles were recovered included:
1966 Ford Mustang
1967 Ford Shelby Cobra GT Mustang
1969 Chevy Camaro SS
2020 GMC 2500 Denali
A Chevy Corvette engine, a white 20’ Cargo King enclosed trailer and a black car trailer with a custom Chevy frame worth approximately $300k were also recovered, according to officials.
Sheriff’s officials said the suspect was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen vehicle, own or operate a chop shop, alter a vehicle’s identification number, possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN number and destruction of evidence.
Authorities added once the six recovered vehicles have their true identity identified and confirmed stolen, they will be returned to their owners.
