Four arrested after fatal shooting at Burleson park kills 17yearold

Four men are facing felony charges after a 17-year-old was fatally shot at Bailey Lake Park in Burleson on Sunday.
According to Burleson Police, officers were called to a shooting at the park at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a person with multiple apparent gunshot wou
nds unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a car in the parking lot. Officers found another injured person, a 17-year-old who had a gunshot wound to his leg.
The victim found in the car, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 17-year-old Keighan Robert Crist, was taken to Texas Health Huguley Hospital, where he later died.
The teen shot in the leg was hospitalized for treatment and his current condition is not known.
During an interview with detectives, the survivor told police the shooting started during a drug buy with three other people.
Police quickly identified two of those people and a teenage suspect was arrested after being found in a vehicle parked in his driveway in Burleson. That teenager, identified Friday as 17-year-old Wyatt Lynn Jacobs, admitted to being involved in the shooting and was charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery. He is being held in the Johnson County Jail on bonds totaling $1.2 million.
Burleson Police said quick work by a team of detectives led to the identification and arrests of three others: 17-year-old Joel Fabian Garcia, of Fort Worth; 17-year-old Julio Adan Duarte, of Burleson; and 18-year-old Gustavo Gil, Jr., of Alvarado.

Garica and Duarte are both facing charges for murder and aggravated robbery. They are also being held in the Johnson County Jail on bonds totaling $1.25 million each. Gil is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and a bond has not yet been set.
It’s unclear if any of the suspects have obtained attorneys to speak on their behalf.
“The Burleson Police Department extends its heartfelt sympathy to the victims and families affected by the tragic shooting at Bailey Lake on Dec. 7,” police said. “This type of violent activity is not welcomed in our community and does not reflect who we are as a city.”
