His department is headquartered on the UNO campus. Rodeno later said the FBI had taken a suspect into custody. The New Orleans Police Department confirmed the campus was being evacuated but directed additional questions to UNO Police. Fall commencement exercises were taking place Friday at UNO Lakefront Arena, located at the separate East Campus, and were not interrupted, according to sources at the event.
