rs Tracy Beteta Cerdas and Mia Rodriguez, plus Notre Dame High boys’ soccer player Nick Angiolino were selected as this year’s scholarship recipients.
Beteta Cerdas, who is headed to the University of Pennsylvania where she plans to study psychology, was a two-year varsity player for head coach Staci Priestley’s Hornets, who worked through a 6-11-2 campaign in which the midfielder/forward scored two goals in her senior season.
“Tracy was willing to do anything and play anywhere to help her team be more successful. She is one of the most respectful and kindest players that I have ever had the privilege of coaching,” Priestley said. “As a player, she was dependable, hard working, and a true role model for her teammates. Academically, she strives to be the best that she can be.”
Rodriguez, a senior who has been accepted to High Point University in North Carolina where she plans to major in Interior Design, was another two-year varsity player for Hamilton West on the defensive end, where the Hornets kept opponents to an average of 2.8 goals per game in 2025.
“As a player, Mia was an extremely hard worker and always did everything with a positive attitude and a smile. I knew that every time she stepped out on that field, she would give 110% effort and never give up,” Priestley said. “As a student, she is also always pushing herself to succeed academically.”
Angiolino, who has yet to lock down his college plans, was a four-year varsity player for head coach Bryan Fisher’s Irish. ND went 64-21-3 during his career, winning 74 percent of its games.
Over those four years, Angiolino amassed 10 goals and 22 assists while switching from defense to midfield. This was his most successful season, finishing with four goals and 12 assists as Notre Dame went 17-2-2 and won the Colonial Valley Conference Tournament, while sharing the Colonial Division title with Princeton High.
“Nick leads by example – he is a great teammate, passionate about giving back through community service, grounded in his faith and deeply devoted to his family,” Fisher said. “He is the kind of leader every coach dreams of. I am incredibly proud of him and all he has accomplished at Notre Dame High School.”
