We’re gearing up for a brief warm-up before the arctic ​moves in later this weekend, and the swing is going to be dramatic​! ​In the mountains,​ winter​ refuses to ​let up. Another weak wave​ is expected to move through, bringing a few more snow showers​ tonight. These wo n’t be b​ig totals, but they’ll keep things slick and snowy, especially in the higher elevations.​ With winds still whipping and overnight lows in the mid 20s it will make for difficult driving conditions. ​I​n the Charlotte​ Metro, we finally get a taste of something milder​ heading into Friday. Temperatures will climb into the 50s tomorrow, and Saturday ​​brings a chance of the 60s. If you love mild weather, Saturday is your day to soak it in​ and finish up any holiday decorating outside. But don’t let that taste of warmth fool you​, because things ​ are headed for a sharp turn. By Sunday, arctic air ​is set to spill into the Carolinas. We’re talking temperatures plunging into the teens by Monday morning, with wind chills making it feel even colder.
