BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man is facing a long list of charges after deputies say he caused a head-on collision, admitted to drinking, and then jumped out of a moving ambulance early Sunday morning. Deputies were called to KY-34 near Old Bridge for a two-vehicle crash. A witness a t the scene told investigators he smelled alcohol on the driver, identified as Ricardo Martinez Flores. Another first responder reported that Martinez admitted to EMS crews that he had been drinking. A woman who followed Martinez from Nicholasville said she saw him driving erratically and feared he might injure someone. While EMS was transporting Martinez for possible injuries, deputies say he jumped out of the moving ambulance near Seminole Trail. Danville Police located him shortly afterward and held him until deputies arrived. Martinez was arrested and booked into the Boyle County Detention Center, where he is also being held on an ICE detainer. No serious injuries were reported in the crash. He is charged with DUI (first offense), no operator’s license, and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
