OKC Zoo Sets New November Attendance Record
Dec 08, 2025
The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden has set a new attendance record for November, drawing 79,906 guests and surpassing the previous record of 76,246 set in 2024. Zoo officials credit the surge to beautiful fall weather, popular seasonal events, and a string of new animal births.
“Nove
mber was a wild month in every sense of the word,” said Dr. Dwight Lawson, the Zoo’s Executive Director and CEO in a press release. “Our staff’s dedication and a full slate of fan-favorite activities made this our most successful November ever.”
This year’s baby boom—including Asian elephant Xerxes, giraffe Kamili, okapi Maple and Francois langur Frankie—added to the excitement. The Zoo also hosted its annual Military Appreciation Celebration, offering free admission and discounts for service members and first responders.
A major draw was the return of OKC Zoo Safari Lights, presented by OGE, which launched November 15 and continues nightly through January 4, 2026.
