Video: Burglars steal pet ashes from East Bay vet’s office, business says

(KRON) — Security video captured two burglars stealing pet ashes from the Central Boulevard Veterinary Hospital in Brentwood early Saturday, according to the vet’s office.

s that a felony burglary occurred at the vets’ office on the 1200 block of Central Boulevard at 6 a.m.
“While our register and all internal doors are securely locked each night, the thieves chose to steal something truly irreplaceable: pet ashes waiting to be returned to their families,” Central Boulevard Veterinary Hospital wrote on social media.

The vet’s office is asking the public to reach out if they find any discarded ashes, urns, paw prints discarded in Brentwood or the surrounding areas, saying that “no family should have to experience this level of grief again.”
“Their actions will cause immeasurable pain to grieving families who have already suffered so much,” the vet’s office wrote on social media. “These ashes hold deep emotional value, and we are desperate to get them back to the people who loved these pets.”
