CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Corrections said a white powdery substance that was found in a piece of correspondence at the Maximum Security facility posed no danger on Friday. RIDOC said that the correctional officer who handled the substance was also medically evaluated . The substance was sent to the State Health Laboratories for further analysis.
