Live nativity Charis Bible College will be hosting its annual Live Nativity Drive-Through from Dec. 19-21. The event will be open from 6-8 p.m. on those evenings. “Bring your family and friends to this inspiring outdoor event and share in the hope and joy of Christmas,” A Charis announceme nt says. Christkindl market The Pikes Peak region will soon get its first Christkindlmarket as Old Colorado City welcomes the event this month. Residents will no longer have to drive up to Denver to experience the magical holiday market, featuring traditional German food, unique handmade gifts and old-World atmosphere. According to a press release, the Old Colorado City Christkindlmarket will be held Dec. 11-14 and 18-23 from 12-8 p.m. in Bancroft Park, 2408 W. Colorado Ave. The market will be free and open to the public. The market is set to feature 10 wooden huts, with vendors selling goods such as authentic German steins, personalized ornaments, Bratwursts and handcrafted Bavarian pretzels. Race to the Clouds Tickets are now on sale for the 104th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, which will be held June 21. Explore all camping and viewing area options, including the popular Fan Bus Experience to Glen Cove or Devils Playground. Tickets are available for both practice sessions (June 16-19) and race day (June 21). In addition, camping permits are available. First staged in 1916, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest race in America. The event, often referred to as The Race to the Clouds is held annually near the end of June on Pikes Peak. The famous 12.42-mile course consists of 156 turns, boasts an elevation gain of 4,725 feet and reaches a finish line at 14,115 feet above sea level.  Library closure The Pikes Peak Library District will temporarily close all branches Dec. 10-11 as it prepares to launch a new software system. The Ute Pass Library is part of the district. The district is in the middle of switching to Polaris software, which will manage all of the library’s online functions in front of and behind the scenes. The online catalog and the library’s mobile app have already been taken offline as part of the changeover.
