A popular Crayola kit sold online at Amazon and at Michael’s stores nationwide has been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after officials said it carries a “serious risk of injury or death.” Approximately 9,400 sets of Crayola magnetic building “pip-Cubes” were re called Dec. 4, the commission said, because of a magnet ingestion hazard. According to the recall, the magnets inside the building cubes could become loose. If swallowed by young children, they can become dangerous, the recall said. “When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract to each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system,” the recall said. “This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.” Recalled CreateOn Crayola-branded pip-Cubes, Bold Colors 24-Piece, Model 1000199 (CPSC) Recalled CreateOn Crayola-branded Glitter pip-Cubes, 24-Piece, Model 1000243 (CPSC) According to the recall, the toy was made in China and imported by CreateOn LLC, based in suburban Wheeling. “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled magnetic building cubes, take them away from children and contact CreateOn to receive a replacement set of pip-cubes,” the recall said. “Consumers will receive a pre-paid label to return the recalled magnetic cubes in order to receive the replacement.” The Crayola sets were sold between May 2025 and July 2025 in Bold and Glitter Colors in sets of 24 or 27 cubes at Michael’s stores nationwide for about $20, the recall notice said.
