Man pleads not guilty to fatal SF Tenderloin shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A 49-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a man Tuesday morning while the victim was sitting inside his car in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district pleaded not guilty to all charges, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Friday.
Deon Jackson was charged with murder
, two counts of discharging a firearm at an occupied motor vehicle, two counts of second-degree robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of possession of an assault weapon.
Surveillance video captured the suspected murder unfold around 6 a.m. on the 100 block of Turk Street, according to court documents cited by the SF DA’s office. The footage allegedly shows Jackson and two other individuals approach the victim’s vehicle and peek inside before Jackson takes out a firearm, opens the passenger-side door and shoots at the victim sitting in the driver’s seat.

Jackson immediately fled the scene on a black scooter while another suspect took items from the car, the court documents said. San Francisco Police Department officers investigating the homicide located the alleged gunman on the 300 block of Taylor Street less than two hours later.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities and prosecutors have not released a potential motive in the shooting.
Jackson is being held without bail ahead of his next court date on Dec. 18.
