StormTracker8: First Snow Finished; Dry Cool Weekend ahead
Dec 05, 2025
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – The snow has just about wrapped up for the day. Roadways are slick, but patches of ice, especially on bridges, are possible. Stay home if you can; if you have to be driving, give yourself extra time and drive slowly.
Temperatures are in the mid 30s across the state. Mos
t of Central Virginia saw snowfall, but folks near the Virginia/North Carolina could be experiencing rain or a wintry precipitation mix to finish off the afternoon. We are not expecting precipitation in the evening or overnight hours. RVA Illuminates will be dry, but cold.
As temperatures drop to the 20s, wet roads are expected to freeze. I believe the roads will be more dangerous on Saturday morning than they are today, due to this re-freeze that could cause numerous icy roads. Please keep this in mind for any Saturday morning plans.
Saturday afternoon highs will be in the 40s, so snow will not linger for long. Sunday morning lows will be below freezing again, and Sunday highs will be in the 40s as well. Both weekend days will be cloudy, but dry.
Next week is starting dry but cold, with highs on Monday forecast to be in the 30s. We will slowly warm through the week ahead of our next frontal boundary set for Thursday night.
