National Operation Robocall Roundup enters Phase 2
Dec 05, 2025
Dec. 5, 2025:
Phase 2 of the National Operation Robocall Roundup effort in the United States has begun.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says warning letters have been issued to an additional four telecom companies demanding they stop routing illegal robocalls through their networks. Thos
e companies are Inteliquent, Bandwidth, Lumen and Peerless.
In August, the task force sent warning letters to 37 smaller voice providers that were allowing suspected illegal robocalls on the network. The effort saw:
13 companies removed from the FCC’s Robocall Mitigation Database, meaning no provider in the United States may accept their call traffic.
19 companies stopped from appearing in any traceback results, indicating they ceased routing suspected illegal robocalls.
At least four providers terminated high-risk customer accounts identified as transmitting illegal traffic.
Jackley is part of the 51-member Attorneys General group Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force which cracks down on robocalls across the country. The task force was started in 2022.

The National Operation Robocall Roundup has issued warning letters to 37 telecom companies demanding they stop routing illegal robocalls through their networks.
The 37 providers receiving warning letters have not compiled with Federal Communications Commission rules about responding to government requests, haven’t registered in the FCC’s Robocall Mitigation Databases, or haven’t filed a plan that describes how they will reduce illegal robocalls on their network. By not taking action, the companies profit by allowing robocallers onto their phone networks and eventually to consumers.
The task force is also sending the letters to 99 downstream providers that accept call traffic from the 37 companies, so that they know they’re doing business with bad actors that are not willing to follow the rules that equally apply to everyone.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says robocalls are a daily nuisance for consumers. He says Attorneys General nationwide will keep telecom companies that allow illegal robocalls on their networks accountable for their actions.
South Dakota is part of the multi-state Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force that was created in 2022 to crack down on robocalls across the country.
