UPDATE 5:00 p.m.: The Lexington Fire Department says two people were taken to the hospital via ambulance, while eight others were taken via mobile bus. LFD says all are expected to fully recover. ORIGINAL STORY: LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Nine people were taken to the hospital Thursday af ter a reported carbon monoxide incident at an apartment complex near New Circle Road. According to Battalion Chief Derek Roberts with the Lexington Fire Department, crews were sent at 2:34 p.m. to the 3100 block of Dorchester Place after reports of carbon monoxide exposure with people feeling sick. Firefighters responded to the Wellington Park Apartments, located next to Wellington Park near West New Circle Road. Crews evaluated multiple residents at the scene, and nine people were taken to the hospital for further treatment. At this time, fire officials have not released the cause of the carbon monoxide exposure or the conditions of those taken to the hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
