A person died Tuesday evening after a pickup truck crashed into an apartment unit in South Fort Worth, according to police. Just before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a major accident at 4633 Sycamore School Road. When they arrived, they found a red pickup had veered off the road and onto an ap artment complex property. The vehicle slammed into a first-floor apartment, striking a resident inside. The resident was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead en route, Fort Worth police said in a statement. The driver of the pickup remained on the scene and was administered a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, but investigators say there were no signs of impairment.
