'I will kill you': Newport man accused of threatening former colleagues

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — A former Naval Undersea Warfare Center employee accused of threatening his former colleagues faced a judge Tuesday, according to acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.
Luis Sanchez Pardella, 38, of Newport, has been charged with transmitting a threat in inters
tate commerce.
Miron Bloom said Sanchez Pardella made numerous menacing, and at times threatening, phone calls to at least eight of his former colleagues between July 2022 and February 2023.
In one instance, Miron Bloom said Sanchez Pardella left one of his colleagues a voicemail stating "I will kill you and your wife when I see you on the street."
Sanchez Pardella is also accused of making a several threatening phone calls to the Portsmouth Police Department beginning in December 2022.
Miron Bloom said in those calls, Sanchez Pardella accused the police department of being corrupt, stated an officer and his wife "will be going to jail," and claimed that "the wife of one of your cops is dead ... write down that she is dead."
Sanchez Pardella was released with GPS monitoring and ordered not to contact any of his victims.
