(WXIN/WTTV): An Indiana State Police trooper has been recognized for showing "extraordinary courage" while responding to a deadly terrorist attack that took place in New Orleans earlier this year. According to a news release, Indiana State Rep. Chuck Moseley (D-Portage) presented House Concurren t Resolution 24 to formally thank Nedal Nabhan for his heroic actions on Jan. 1, 2025, after a pickup truck crashed into a crowd on Bourbon Street, killing 10 people and leaving over 30 others injured. The attack delayed the Allstate Sugar Bowl at New Orleans’ Superdome as authorities investigated the deadly incident. "During his vacation, Officer Nabhan witnessed an act of terrorism unfold outside his hotel room," the release said. "Without hesitation for his own safety, he secured his wife and immediately sprang into action to assist those injured in the attack." Nabhan worked as a Tactical Medicine Instructor after beginning his career with ISP on Dec. 21, 2007. “Nedal Nabhan’s actions on that day exemplify the highest standards of heroism, courage and service,” Rep. Moseley said. “His quick thinking, bravery and commitment to saving others serve as a reminder of the enduring spirit of service that inspires us all.
