Cold, northwesterly winds have been adding a big chill to the air today with temps only making it to around 50°. What a change from yesterday's 70s! Our evening temps will drop through the 40s and end up just below freezing by early morning.
There's a chill in the air tonight with temps falling
through the 40s and into the 30s.
After plenty of cloudy moments today, the area of low pressure that brought the clouds heads east tonight. High pressure moves in behind it and the clouds will decrease throughout the nighttime with the sky becoming mostly clear after midnight. Temperatures will fall to the freezing mark and just below during the early morning. We're monitoring the chance that the northern lights might be visible tonight.
Northern lights viewing chance Tuesday night
Some strong winds continue this evening, but winds decrease overnight, eventually just blowing in from the NW between 5 and 10 mph. During the day, we've had gusts as high as around 50 mph.
Van Wert, OH, reports the highest wind gust of the day. Wind gusts decrease tonight and Wednesday's winds will be much lighter with our current weather system moving off to the east.
Winds will blow in at a much lighter intensity tomorrow, from the NW at just 10 mph, and lots of sunshine is coming our way. High temperatures will rise to the mid-50s.
On Thursday, the sky becomes mostly cloudy and high temps rise into the mid-60s.
The warm air gets pumping on Friday and highs reach the upper 70s. However, a cold front will cross through into Saturday and we may get some strong and severe storms anywhere from later Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning (before dawn). Continue to check back in for WANE Forecast updates between now and then. As we get closer to Friday, our confidence will increase in the arrival time and what storm threats are possible (high winds, hail, and/or tornadoes).
The chance for severe storms exists late in the day Friday and continues through the night into early Saturday.
The weekend forecast is trending wetter than it has appeared over pervious days. With the additional rain tracking in from the south over both Saturday and Sunday, it now appears that total rainfall from Friday through Sunday may exceed 1" in some spots.
By Monday, the weekend rain wraps up and next week's forecast is looking mainly dry. High temperatures will be seasonal, in the 60s.
