Wrapping up our draft preview series with the heart and soul of big boy football You can never go wrong with the trenches when it comes to the NFL draft. Offensive and defensive linemen alike always retain top value in any draft year, and for the 2025
class there’s few positions that really stand out quite like the big boys. This is where football is won and lost, and every team worth their salt knows it. The Detroit Lions know it too, and we highly anticipate they’ll select at least one draft prospect here, probably more.
On this episode of the Pride of Detroit PODcast, we’re capping off our positional previews for the 2025 NFL Draft. You can see our previous episodes still where we addressed skill position players, and linebackers and defensive backs. Finally, we hit the meat of this draft: the trenches. We discuss the need for the Lions on the offensive line, where flexibility at position may play key and guard remains squarely on the table. Once again, we discuss multiple prospects in all three days, so multiple round ranges are hit upon and we get deep into the draft order.
After OL comes DL. Defensive linemen is where we really dig in, both for ends and tackles. What do the Lions prioritize on the line at this point? Will someone like Texas AM’s Shemar Stewart be available where the Lions draft? What do we like in Nic Scourton and Landon Jackson?
Thank you for joining us in this series. Next up is our full draft preview, and we hope to have it our with enough time to digest before the draft itself. As always, thank you for your continued support of PODcast.
