WORCESTER, Mass. (WWLP) - A man from Worcester was charged after a package containing methamphetamine was seized at a post office.

The Department of Justice states that 34-year-old Tong Tran was allegedly identified
shipping a package at a Worcester Post Office on or about September 19th, 2024. After the package was searched, it allegedly contained 2.4 kilograms of orange pills inside a children's toy box. A partial fingerprint on the wrapping inside the box allegedly belonged to Tran. The orange pills tested positive for methamphetamine.

On Monday, a search was conducted at his residence, and a pill press, binding agent and additional equipment used to manufacture pills, including pill dyes were found. Additionally, 3.3 kilograms of methamphetamine and approximately $8,000 in cash were also seized.
Tran was charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. The charge of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances is a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a minimum of three years and up to life of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1,000,000.
