Celebrate Earth Day with festival at Science Museum of Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Earth Day is nearing, and the Science Museum of Virginia is hosting a family-friendly festival with a variety of activities to celebrate.
The festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, and will explore sustainability, natural resources and environmental
science.
Attendees will hear from community partners and learn about composting, wetlands, solar power, recycling, bike infrastructure, watershed restoration, native plants and pollinators, energy savings and more.
In addition, the museum said films highlighting "the awesomeness of the Earth" will be shown at The Dome.
In between activities and demonstrations, visitors can grab a snack from food trucks such as Curbside Creations and King of Pops.
Admission is $10. Science Museum members, Virginia educators, military personnel and children aged two years old and younger are free. Dome features require an additional $5 ticket or members may use a Dome pass.
Community partners will be outside, weather permitting, according to the museum. If rain is forecasted, these activities will be moved inside.
