Boston marks 12 years since deadly 2013 Boston Marathon bombing

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Tuesday marks 12 years since the deadly Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and wounded hundreds when powerful explosives were detonated near the finish line in 2013.

illed.
MIT police officer, 27-year-old Sean Collier was killed days later during a manhunt for bombers.
The city honored victims and survivors Tuesday in Boston.
Every year, Boston marks the day by encouraging acts of charity and kindness.
There will be a bell ringing and moment of silence at the Old South Church at 2:49 p.m.
The city is also hosting several service projects.
This year, about 30,000 runners are participating in the April 21 race.
Another half-million spectators are expected along the route.
A bulletin obtained by ABC News said law enforcement officials are not aware of any specific or credible threats to high profile attendees of the Boston Marathon.
