DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) - Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, a school in De Pere is one out of 35 schools nationwide chosen to receive resources from the American Heart Association and the National Football League in order to conduct an NFL PLAY 60 'Day of Play.' According to a release from the Unified Sc hool District of De Pere, Dickinson Elementary School is one of 35 schools to receive an NFL PLAY 60 'Day of Play' interactive kit as well as one of three schools in the US to receive a $2,500 NFL PLAY 60 grant to help enhance the planned activities. ‘Busiest week in 20 years’: Airports make final preparations for tens of thousands of draft visitors School officials say the 'Day of Play' interactive kits come with footballs, frisbees, jump ropes, kickballs, fitness dice, cones, and markers, along with a Day of Play School activation guide, that features exercise videos, heart-health modules, ideas for games and challenges, and activity suggestions. These resources will transform our school into an active play zone, ensuring every child can engage in fun, physical heart-healthy activities. Students will have the opportunity to join in games, challenges and exercises while learning about heart health. The experience aims to make health and well-being fun and to inspire students to take charge of their health. Dickinson Principal Luke Herlache Officials with the American Heart Association say the NFL PLAY 60 intuitive is rooted in the AHA's science and research that shows that students have a better chance of a healthy adulthood when they develop healthy habits as children. The NFL and the AHA have been teaming up since 2006 to inspire kids through fun and engaging ways to get physically active for at least 60 minutes a day.
