COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man charged in a 2023 fatal shooting in east Columbus could spend the rest of his life in prison. According to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, Pedro Pace was sentenced to 34-years-to-life in prison after he was found guilty of murder, felonious assault, impr oper handling of a firearm and having weapons under disability. Judge refuses to dismiss counts against man accused in Gaudreau brothers’ deaths Pace, who was convicted by a jury Monday, shot and killed 36-year-old James Jones on Sept. 16, 2023, in the 600 block of South 22nd Street in the Livingston Park neighborhood. That’s where Jones was found suffering from a gunshot wound at 12:09 p.m. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he died at around 1 p.m. The shooting stemmed from an altercation, police said, and court documents noted that charges against Jones included specifications as a repeat offender.
