Man sentenced to at least 34 years in 2023 east Columbus fatal shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man charged in a 2023 fatal shooting in east Columbus could spend the rest of his life in prison.

oper handling of a firearm and having weapons under disability.

Pace, who was convicted by a jury Monday, shot and killed 36-year-old James Jones on Sept. 16, 2023, in the 600 block of South 22nd Street in the Livingston Park neighborhood. That’s where Jones was found suffering from a gunshot wound at 12:09 p.m. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he died at around 1 p.m.
