The actor, whose full name is William Gutiérrez-Levy, appeared in court on Tuesday, where his bond was set at $250 for each count, according to Miami’s ABC affiliate, WPLG.
Levy, who has been dubbed the Latino Brad Pitt, was named one of Hollywood’s Top 10 Latino actors and actresses by Variety in 2014, alongside movie powerhouses including Salma Hayek, John Leguizamo and Andy Garcia.
The genetically blessed actor, who played Jennifer Lopez’s love interest in her 2011 “I’m Into You” video, started his career as a model before transitioning to acting.
After appearing mainly on Spanish-language television, Levy became a nationally recognized figure in 2014, when he competed on the 14th season of “Dancing with the Stars” — finishing in third place alongside his partner, Cheryl Burke.
He then had roles in hit American movies including “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter,” “Girls Trip” and Tyler Perry’s “The Single Moms Club.”
He remained behind bars in Broward County Jail Tuesday afternoon, WPLG reported.
A rep for the actor didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday. ...read more read less
