Attempted robbery, shooting occur within hours of each other in DC: police

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- On Monday, D.C. police responded to two incidents, an attempted robbery and a shooting, that occurred within a couple hours of each other, police said.
Woman’s death in Northeast DC ruled a homicide
Just before 10 p.m., officers responded to the 2600 block
of Stanton Road, SE, for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. No suspect information is available in this case as of Tuesday morning.
Shortly after, around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Somerset Place, NW, for a report of an assault. Officers arrived at that scene to find a man who had been attacked by two people in an attempt to rob him.
The victim was not injured during the attack. The suspects were two males in all black clothing wearing ski masks.
