VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Two adults and a cat were displaced after a fire to a home on Wilmington Court Monday afternoon, the Virginia Beach Fire Department said. (Photos - Virginia Beach Fire Department) Around 2:46 p.m., fire department crews were sent to the 3900 block of Wilming ton Court for a report of a residential structure fire, and when they arrived to the two-story, single-family home, they saw heavy smoke and flames from the garage, the fire department said. The fire that had started in the garage, it said, has burned through the garage door, and crews were able to keep the fire damage to the garage. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and there were no injuries. Crews rescued a cat from the home. It was one of two fires in the city Monday that displaced seven people and five pets.
