PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — We'll start this morning with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 60s. Stray showers will be possible, although the chance for rain remains less than 20%.
The increased cloud cover and low rain chance has to do with a cold front that will move through
this morning, followed by a second front that will bring gusty winds into the afternoon hours and help clear the skies to sunshine by the afternoon. The better chance for rain will be in the mountains and foothills as well as along the North Carolina-Virginia state line. Afternoon highs reach the upper 60s with sunny skies and winds gusting up to 40 mph.
Sunshine dominates all day Wednesday, with morning lows in the low 40s and highs in the mid-60s. Winds will remain breezy out of the northwest at 10-20 mph, and gusts of 30 mph are possible.
We'll start to warm back up again by Thursday. Morning lows will be in the low 40s and highs will reach the upper 60s Thursday afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny with light southwest winds.
Mostly sunny skies again Friday, with morning lows in the upper 40s and afternoon highs reaching the upper 70s.
For Easter weekend, the weather looks great. We'll start Saturday morning in the upper 50s and afternoon highs will reach the low to mid-80s with partly cloudy skies. Sunday morning starts in the low 60s and highs reach the low 80s with a mix of sun and clouds.
