Sedgwick County detention deputy allegedly burned by inmate

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A detention deputy with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office was seriously injured Monday evening.
According to the sheriff's office, around 7:20 p.m., an inmate allegedly "threw" scalding hot water on the detention deputy, causing serious burns. The detention deputy was tr
ansported to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputy Branden Stitt said that inmates typically have access to scalding hot water in order to make things like tea.
The investigation is ongoing.
