Health officials identify 10 vulnerable individuals who came in contact with measles

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The state Department of Health has identified 10 individuals who may have come into contact with an unvaccinated child who contracted measles last week, and is strongly urging those 10 to isolate.
Upon the child's contraction of the measles, an adult in their household began s
howing symptoms of measles. Since then, a total of 92 people have been identified as possible contacts, with most of them being vaccinated against the disease.

The 10 individuals being asked to isolate are suspected to have come in contact with the child or adult, and do not have proof of vaccination or other immunity.
Fortunately, the child infected has made a full recovery.
There is also the potential that additional individuals have been exposed, but are not known to the DOH. Members of the public may have been exposed to measles if they were in the following locations at the following times:
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport
C gates, customs and baggage claim area on March 30 between 10:50 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Terminal 2 departures, TSA checkpoints and gate area for Delta flight 309 to Atlanta, Ga. on April 4 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
According to health officials, measles symptoms can take 21 days to appear.
