The Liberty Memorial Building is the oldest on the state Capitol grounds, and was built as a tribute to North Dakotans who served in World War I. As such, it will also be used to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's ride.
The lighting is inspired by the lanterns hung in Boston's Old North Church in 1775. The commission invites government offices, businesses, and households to participate by displaying two lights in windows throughout the night of April 18. Participants can also share photos on social media using #TwoLightsForTomorrow.
