Dog park in Kingsburg to reopen after $1.2M upgrade
The Kingsburg Dog Park, located at 1250 Laurel St., sits on a large former water basin that has since received $1.24 million in upgrades, including a walking path.
"What it was is pretty much a dilapidated area that was never really used for the dogs and that's because we just didn't want to spend city dollars on it," Pursell said. "But with the state money coming in for this, we were able to build this beautiful park."
Pursell said the design for the park came in from public commissions, allowing for a more personalized experience for local dog owners.
"Really what this dog park is gonna do is gonna encourage responsible dog ownership and it's gonna bring all the other parks that were getting some dogs use here," Pursell said. "It'll alleviate some of that burden from our other parks and bring all of the dogs here. And it's going to encourage public health both for the animals and for the citizens." ...read more read less
