SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- An earthquake rattled San Diego County Monday morning, prompting some local government buildings to close to ensure the safety of staff.
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck
near Julian in eastern San Diego County Monday morning, shaking much of Southern California.
Some North County train services canceled or delayed after earthquake
The earthquake caused some localized rockfalls and landslides, which led to road closures on Monday. Across the city, there were no reports of major damage, however out of precaution the San Diego City Administration Building at 202 C Street in downtown San Diego was closed for the rest of the day on Monday.
The city says building inspections are ongoing and although no damage has been reported, assessments are being completed out of an abundance of caution.
Aftershocks rattle eastern San Diego County after 5.2 earthquake
The City Administration Building, also known as San Diego's City Hall, is closed to the public and staff until Tuesday.
The San Diego County Administration Building in Kearny Mesa was also evacuated.
The city says other city-owned facilities in downtown San Diego have been assessed and opened for the public and city staff.
The San Diego City Council meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon was moved to the San Diego Civic Theatre because of the closure. ...read more read less
