Ramp closures, reduced lanes for two major Topeka highways

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will be reducing lanes of traffic on a major highway in Topeka this week.
On Tuesday, April 15 KDOT will be reducing lanes of travel on US-24 Highway and on US-75 Highway for a multi-bridge repair project.
The northbound bridge ov
er US-24 will be reduced to one lane in the coming weeks and both directions of US-75 will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the project. KDOT said the US-75 construction is expected to be finished in late August this year.

KDOT said there will be a 12-foot width restriction and a reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zones.

Message boards will be in place to direct motorists. Intermittent ramp closures can be expected on US-24. KDOT said work will take place during daylight hours on weekdays with lane closures and traffic control to remain in place during non-working hours.
