Henrico police arrest 30yearold man in connection to stabbing, police chase with toddler in back seat

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division reports an arrest has been made in connection with Sunday's assault and pursuit, which ended in Richmond.
Police were called to the intersection of Reynolds Road and Howard Street for reports of a stabbing on April 13. When officers a
rrived on the scene, they found a woman with a neck injury and provided immediate medical attention.
The victim was later transported to a nearby hospital, where she is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
After the assault, the suspect's vehicle was identified in the 4700 block of Laburnum Avenue and officers attempted a traffic stop. According to police, the suspect did not stop the vehicle and led police in a pursuit.
During the chase, a woman exited the moving vehicle. Officers later located the woman and transported her to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The pursuit ended in Richmond after the suspect crashed at the intersection of 7th Street and Route 360. The suspect then tried to run from the scene but was ultimately detained by police.
When officers checked the vehicle, they reportedly found a toddler in the backseat, who was later transported to a local hospital for treatment with minor injuries.
A police spokesperson told 8News that the individuals involved knew each other, however, no further information is being released at this time.
The suspect has now been identified as 30-year-old Tyler Renard Thomas. He was arrested and charged with:
Malicious Wounding
Felony Stabbing
Felony Eluding
Felony Child Endangerment
