Apartment fire near I-65 and County Line Road INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An adult and a child received slight injuries in a Monday afternoon fire at Latitude Apartments on the far south side of Indianapolis, the fire department says. The Indianapolis Fire Department was called about 4:15 p.m. Mo nday to the apartment fire in the 8700 block of Longitude Lane. That’s southeast of the intersection of County Line Road and Combs Road. The fire affected 12 apartments, with four units suffering heavy fire damage and eight units affected by smoke, water or utility shutoff. Working smoke alarms were present in the building. Winds played a role in pushing the fire into the three-story building’s attic. A cat died in the fire, and another cat was could not immediately be found. The cause of the fire remained under investigation on Monday night, the department said.
