Wisconsin man arrested after burglary at apartment building

MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) - A 36-year-old man was taken into custody following a burglary at an apartment complex early Monday morning.
The incident happened in Monona, where officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at an apartment building in the 3800 block of Monona Drive. Officers sp

One caller reported seeing the suspect climbing down from a window using a collapsible ladder.
Officers, who recognized the individual from a previous burglary at the same location, found him behind the building. He was detained near his vehicle, where illegal drugs were visible in plain sight.
Authorities searched the vehicle and found the collapsible ladder in the trunk, along with burglary tools such as a lockout kit and pry bar.
Damage consistent with a break-in was found on a window frame of the apartment, and police say the man had a temporary restraining order from one of the residents.

Erick R. Thompson-Feirn of Fitchburg was ultimately arrested. Records show he was out on a small cash bond for multiple felonies at the time.
He was booked into the Dane County Jail for attempted burglary to a dwelling, possession of burglarious tools, violation of a restraining order, and two counts of felony bail jumping. Formal charges had not yet been filed at the time of this report. ...read more read less
