ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- The father of a child who somehow suffered fractured bones in his leg as well as broken ribs and a broken clavicle was sentenced Monday in Allen County Superior Court.

Monday, Terry L. Hargis, Jr., was sentenced to 32 years in prison in connection to three Level 3 felony counts of neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury.
Hargis was sentenced to an additional 20 years for an enhanced habitual offender charge.
In 2022, then, 34-year-old Terry L. Hargis, Jr., was charged following a visit to a local hospital with a child, where medical professionals found the child had a broken right femur, a broken right tibia and fibula, two broken ribs and a broken clavicle.
The child was removed from the home by the Department of Child Services and then taken to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, where it was revealed that all those injuries were “caused by abuse,” according to court documents.
Hargis was given credit for 786 days he has served in jail, but will serve nearly 50 years in jail. ...read more read less
