BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Bakersfield police and code enforcement evicted all tenants of the La Mirage Motel on Monday.
The city says 10-15 people, including the manager, were kicked-off the property.
"I don't have a plan. We're gonna tent up and I know that this year they passed a law t
hat we can't even sit out on the streets or be homeless on the streets because it's against the law now….I don't know what we're gonna do," said Ida Maynor, a resident.
Maynor and her husband, Jovon Jackson, woke up to code enforcement and police banging on their door, telling them to leave. Maynor and Jackson grabbed what they could and left, having to leave things behind.
They have lived at La Mirage for a few months and paid $650 a month for a room. The situation for the family is especially scary, because Maynor is 8-months pregnant with a baby girl.
"We need help....resources, housing, job placement, anything," said Jackson. "Some type of help, some type of resources."
Bakersfield police arrested three people on outstanding warrants and one for resisting arrest.
In January, the county's environmental health department suspended the La Mirage owner's license after finding multiple violations. Those violations included no hot water, exposed electrical, broken smoke detectors and vermin infestations.

The county ordered the property to close, however the motel still operated.
"They're arresting the homeless…so why are they putting us out now? Just to arrest us and put us behind bars?" said another La Mirage evictee, Guadalupe Montoya, who was worried about her health.
She has COPD and a lung infection, keeping her on oxygen.
"My tanks almost empty and I have another thing that needs to be plugged up," Montoya said.
Montoya also has nowhere to stay.
A spokesperson for the city said they offered to call Flood Ministries for the residents, but all of the offers were declined. The residents said, however, they weren't offered services.
If the owner fixes the violations, La Mirage can operate again. ...read more read less
