BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Fire Department is scheduled to host a virtual public meeting to provide information on the recently released Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps for the Kern County area. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. The informational s ession will include an overview of the updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps, which now reflects all three fire hazard classifications, like Moderate, High and Very High, according to fire officials. The updated maps identify hazard areas, building codes and mitigation strategies. The community is asked to view the maps and provide feedback by clicking here.
