(KRON) -- Transit police officers made a gruesome discovery on a park bench near a Fremont train station Sunday morning. The Fremont Police Department said it was contacted by AMTRAK Police after officers discovered a decapitated and eviscerated animal on a bench at the Centerville Train Station. R esponding officers located the animal's remains, however they were unable to determine its species. Next to the bench, several bags were found. Fremont PD has contacted a forensic veterinarian to try and identify the species of the animals. Police say no threats have been identified in connection to the incident.
