SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll took a tour of one of the regions must-see sights the Springfield Museums.

She spent her Sunday afternoon in the heart of Springfield one of many stops on her road trip to cele
brate 413 day. The trip began at 10am in the Berkshires and the lieutenant governor stopped at every county in western Massachusetts including a trip to MassMoCa and a few state parks. Her stops on 413 day recognize the people, culture and spirit of western Massachusetts. "We really believe that western Mass has a story to tell the cultural richness, the opportunity for a sort of eco-tourism," shared Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll. Lt. Gov Driscoll immersed herself into Van Gogh's paintings at the Springfield Museums and even go the chance to take a trip down memory lane at the Dr. Seuss Museum., This trip encourages tourism in the area and it's part of the Healey administration efforts to invest in each region of the commonwealth. "We've made it our mission whether it's through out rural empowerment council or the ways that we're working in western Mass to connect through East-West rail," shared Lt. Governor Driscoll. Though she says the people in this community are her favorite part about western Massachusetts, "Because of some of the rural nature of parts of western Mass you just see a greater neighbor connection."
